National Stadium at Singapore Sports Hub unveils state-of-the-art hybrid grass pitch
The new National Stadium at the Singapore Sports Hub is the first competitive venue in Asia to have a state-of-the-art hybrid grass pitch.
It's covered in a mixture of grass and artificial fibres, and costs $800,000.
The hybrid grass pitch promises to enhance playability during games like football, because it provides optimal ball roll and grip for players.
Such pitches are also used at London's famous Wembley Stadium and other world class venues.
The 55,000 seater stadium will have its first event, the Rugby World Club 10s later in June.
