Muslims urged to correct anti—Islam video by portraying true teachings

SINGAPORE: Friday sermons in mosques across Singapore addressed the aftermath of the anti—Islamic video that has led to protests around the world.

Mosque leaders urged their congregation to correct the accusations by portraying the true teachings of Islam.

They should acquire knowledge and understanding, nurture excellent families and community, as well as contribute to the well—being of humanity and global peace.

Religious leaders pointed out that the irresponsible action of a small group of individuals is uncalled for, and is regrettable but stressed that reacting through violence will only affirm the wrongful impression portrayed in the film —that Islam supports extremism and violence.
