More women helped in getting maintenance payments due to them

More women have come forward to seek help in getting maintenance payments due to them.

Since the opening of Maintenance Support Central (MSC) last September, it has received 589 enquiries and assisted some 74 claimants.

MSC is located at the Singapore Council of Women's Organisations (SCWO).

MSC helps women who face difficulties getting their payments file an application to enforce their maintenance order.

It also provides counseling for the women, as well as legal clinics.

The service is free of charge.

MSC was one of the areas on the SCWO premises visited today by the wife of President Tony Tan Keng Yam, Mrs Mary Tan.
