SINGAPORE: 1,044 Specialist Cadets from the Singapore Army and Republic of Singapore Air Force have graduated as specialists of the Singapore Armed Forces.
Minister of State for National Development reviewed the graduation parade at Pasir Laba Camp on Thursday (June 26).
He touched on expanding threats to Singapore's security in his address, saying: "Security challenges that we face in our region are also increasingly transnational and non-traditional. These range from terrorism, weapons proliferation, natural disasters and biological pandemics. In such an uncertain environment, having a strong and credible defence allows us to steer a steady course."
The parade caps a 22-week Specialist Cadet Course, which involves leadership and combat skills training. - CNA/ly
