More off-peak trains to be added
More off-peak train trips will be added to Singapore's rail networks.
By September this year, trains will arrive less than five minutes apart during non-peak hours on the North South and East West Lines.
Over 400, or five per cent more weekly train trips will be progressively added for those lines.
On the Circle Line, about 200, or four per cent more non-peak weekly train trips have been added since the 1st of January.
Around 150, or three per cent more such trips will be added next month.
Since the start of the year, over 400, or close to 13 per cent more off-peak weekly train trips were added on the North East Line, and trains now arrive from three to five minutes apart.
Across Singapore's entire rail system, the number of incidents causing delays of more than five minutes for every 100,000 kilometres travelled has dipped by 20 per cent from 2012 to 2013.
