Ministry of Transport raises over S$700,000 for charity
SINGAPORE : The Community Chest has received more than S$700,000 from the Ministry of Transport (MOT) and its statutory boards through its Family Charity Outreach programme.
The statutory boards are Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, Land Transport Authority, Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore and the Public Transport Council.
Minister for Transport Lui Tuck Yew presented the donation to the vice—chair of the Community Chest Committee, Hwang Peng Yuan, at a charity movie event on Friday evening.
Mr Lui said the MOT family is committed to helping those less fortunate in society.
