SINGAPORE: Several ministries and organisations marked Singapore’s National Day with observance ceremonies on Wednesday.
These included the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministries of Defence, Finance and National Development.
At the Istana, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and President Tony Tan Keng Yam were treated to musical performances by youths.
Minister for Defence Ng Eng Hen and over 2000 personnel from the Ministry of Defence celebrated the nation’s 47th birthday with a showcase from the Singapore Armed Forces’ Music and Drama Company.
At the Singapore Islamic Hub in Braddell, Minister—in—Charge of Muslim Affairs Yaacob Ibrahim also joined in the celebrations.
