Mendaki presents scholarships, monetary awards to young Malay talents
SINGAPORE: 34 talented young Malays were on Saturday celebrated at a ceremony organised by the Malay self—help group Mendaki.
Most of the recipients received Special Achievement Awards for their performances in non academic disciplines like music, sports and the arts.
They received their awards of either S$1,000 for the Gold Award or S$600 for the Silver Award from Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong.
Four recipients were also nominated by their schools for the Goh Chok Tong Youth Promise Award.
They will be receiving S$80,000 in scholarships for diploma and degree courses to further their studies.
