SINGAPORE: Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs Masagos Zulkifli will visit Sarawak, Malaysia and Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam from Sunday till January 18 to reaffirm Singapore’s strong relations with both countries and explore new areas of cooperation.
In Sarawak, Mr Masagos is scheduled to call on the Yang di—Pertua Negeri of Sarawak, Muhammad Salahuddin Abang Barieng, and the Speaker of the Sarawak State Assembly Amar Haji Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar.
Mr Masagos will also meet Malaysian Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water Peter Chin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Richard Riot, and members of the Sarawak State government.
While in Brunei Darussalam, Mr Masagos will learn about Brunei’s drug rehabilitation programme. He is also scheduled to meet Minister of Home Affairs Badaruddin Othman, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade II Lim Jock Seng, Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister’s Office Yasmin Umar and other senior officials.
Mr Masagos will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Home Affairs.
