SINGAPORE: A co-located police centre and fire station in the Marina Bay financial district was officially opened on Friday by Second Minister for Home Affairs S Iswaran.
The co-location of the facilities provides a common platform for information and resource-sharing among Home Team agencies.
The facilities aim to give a faster Civil Defence emergency response coupled with an enhanced police presence.
They are the second, after Alexandra Fire Station and Queenstown Police Centre, to be co-located.
Mr Iswaran said: "We're seeing in the Marina Bay area a growing level of business activities and also residential projects coming up. So it is an area that needs to be well-served and having this location here means greater proximity between our operational agencies and the areas where they are serving." - CNA/ck
