Many applicants unaware of requirements for new Foreign Domestic Worker Grant

Only about 50 of the more than 330 applications received by the Centre for Enabled Living, for the new Foreign Domestic Worker Grant to date, have been successful.

The grant aims to give more support to families who hire foreign domestic workers to care for their disabled family members or elderly with moderate to severe disabilities.

But Minister of State for Community Development, Youth and Sports, Madam Halimah Yacob said many of the applicants were not aware of the two requirements needed.

Madam Halimah gave this update as she visited one of the successful applicants who will be receiving their first disbursement of 120 dollar monthly grant from November.
