Man charged with helping to steal S$4.3m worth of gold

SINGAPORE: A 28—year—old man was charged on Friday with helping an employee of a security escort and transport service company steal S$4.3 million worth of gold.

Teo Wen Wei was accused of helping Jonas Tan Teck Leng steal 70 pieces of gold from Brink’s Singapore in Kaki Bukit Road on June 30.

Teo allegedly transported the gold to Bedok South Avenue 2 and then to Changi Airport Terminal 3.

His case will be heard again on July 19.

His police bail has been extended.

If convicted, he could be jailed up to seven years and fined.
