Malay Language Month launched

The Malay Language Month - an initiative to bring the language to the wider community - is back for its 25th year.

And this time, values are the focus.

The theme this year reflects how the Malay community is associated with certain values, such as graciousness and respect.

For the first time, youths will be engaged through social media.

Community groups like the Malay Activity Executive Committees and schools have also lined up activities like story-telling contests and motivational talks all over Singapore.

And helping spread the message are Language Ambassadors.

Three Malay individuals have been appointed, including MediaCorp's news presenter Daud Yusof.
