Major disruption on Circle Line is most regrettable, says Transport Minister

Transport Minister Lui Tuck Yew says there is a major fault on the Circle Line affecting service in both directions.

Posting on his Facebook page, Mr Lui said the incident is most regrettable, adding he will continue to monitor it closely.

Mr Lui said one train had stalled between Bayfront and Promenade station and passengers were detrained onto the tracks and they made their way to the station.

Mr Lui said he has asked the Land Transport Authority to get to the root cause of this.

The Rail Incident Management Plan has been activated and he has asked LTA to make sure all necessary measures are speedily implemented.

Mr Lui said he's aware it will inconvenience many commuters making their way home on the eve of a public holiday.
