M1 confirms disruption to mobile network

M1 confirms disruption to mobile network

M1 says a disruption to its mobile phone network this morning led to subscribers in various parts of Singapore being unable to send SMSes or make calls via their M1 lines. 

In a statement issued this morning, M1 says its mobile data services were not affected. 

The telco has not commented on the cause or expected duration of the disruption. 

One of the affected M1 customers is Lim Wei Xiong. 

He found out at around 9am that the 11 mobile lines that his family subscribes to were all down. 

This includes the 4 lines he uses to run his auto shop business. 

"All my business lines are down. All are the golden numbers that I have bought from them. All my customers can't get me. Then today I had a few sales arrangements, some of my customers have cancelled their appointments. And then I keep calling M1, can't get through. The line keeps on engaging. And then just now the duty manager just called me. They are unable to give me an answer as to when my line can be up."

As of 12 noon today, some M1 customers were still unable to make phone calls.
