SINGAPORE: Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) has won an international digital award for its smartphone application MyTransport.SG.
The app bagged a Silver in the maps and navigation mobile app category at the 2012 W3 Awards.
Judging criteria for this category includes creativity, usability, navigation, functionality, visual design and ease of use.
The award makes LTA the first public agency in Singapore to win an international W3 award for digital creative excellence.
With the app, smartphone users can find out about bus arrivals and calculate electronic road pricing (ERP) rates.
They can also snap and send photos of transport—related defects like faulty traffic lights and blocked road signs to LTA.
The app was launched in November last year.
W3 Awards is an international award that recognises creative excellence in websites, mobile applications, web videos and other marketing programmes.
