Local blogger faces legal action from PM Lee's lawyers
A local blogger is facing legal action from Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong for alleging that CPF funds have been "misappropriated".
PM Lee, through his lawyer, Davinder Singh, wrote to Roy Ngerng Yi Ling on Sunday, asking him to take down the original article from his blog, as well as the links posted on his Facebook pages.
Mr Ngerng also has to post an apology on his blog by Wednesday, 21 May.
If he fails to do so, he could be sued for defamation.
Mr Singh said the allegations by Ngerng in his May 15 blog post were "false and baseless".
He added that the post constituted a serious libel against Mr Lee, it "disparages him, and impugns his character, credit and integrity".
Mr Ngerng, who is represented by lawyer M Ravi, posted the letter of demand on Monday on his website saying he is "being sued for defamation".
