SINGAPORE: Former Liverpool Football Club striker Robbie Fowler made a special appearance at the Courts Megastore in Tampines. About 200 fans spent the afternoon with their favourite football star.
On Friday, current Liverpool striker Craig Bellamy was in town to launch the team’s new jersey, and more Liverpool legends could be heading to Singapore.
Courts, which has reached an agreement with Liverpool to represent its football academy in Singapore, said there are plans to bring more players, like Ian Rush, to Singapore.
Fowler is best remembered for his goalscoring feats at Liverpool. He is still fourth for the highest number of goals scored in the English Premier League.
He is also backing Liverpool’s new manager Brendan Rodgers, who took over as manager earlier this week.
Fowler said: "I think it’s a good appointment. I think his record last year with Swansea is fantastic. Every manager in every team that he played against always praised him for the football that he played, his mannerisms, everything about him."
