SINGAPORE: Minister for Culture, Community and Youth Lawrence Wong will visit London from Sep 1 to 3, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the cultural cooperation between both countries.
In a press release, the ministry said Mr Wong will be present at the signing of the first Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the National Heritage Board and the British Museum during the trip. This will enable both institutions to intensify cooperation and exchanges, it said.
The minister will also meet leaders from the United Kingdom's leading cultural agencies such as Arts Council England and the Saatchi Gallery, and attend the Singapore Symphony Orchestra's debut performance at the 120th BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall.
He will be accompanied by officials from MCCY, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Arts Council and the National Heritage Board, according to the release. - CNA/kk
