Kai Kai & Jia Jia thrill hordes of visitors on opening day of Giant Panda Forest

The two pandas from China, Kai Kai and Jia Jia, thrilled hordes of visitors on the opening day of the Giant Panda Forest.

They were active this morning - moving playfully around their enclosure as visitors hung on to their every action, and snapped photographs.

Some visitors arrived at the Singapore Zoo, where the Panda Forest is located, before 8am - one hour before the panda's enclosure opened.

Tickets for the first few viewing sessions were quickly snapped up. 150 people can enter the enclosure during each viewing session.

For many families, the outing to the Giant Panda Forest was a school holiday treat.

"We are touring Singapore and we found out the enclosure is open today, so we decided to drop the Universal theme park and come to the Singapore zoo.// I've never seen them before so it's really nice."

"We came here about 9am, had to queue up though, managed to get only the 10.40 slot."

"I was very excited to come here, the pandas are very cute and adorable."
