SINGAPORE: A delegation from the Kansai Economic Federation called on Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Istana on Wednesday.
Leading the team was the chairman of the Kansai Economic Federation, or Kankeiren, Mr Shosuke Mori.
Others in the delegation include the chairman of Kyoei Steel Limited and the chairman of the Bank of Kyoto.
According to the federation’s website, the Kansai region has a population of 24 million and is the second largest region in Japan, in terms of economy, with a GDP of approximately US$840 billion.
It is also Japan’s most historical and culturally important area.
