International panel to help draw R&D roadmap for creative land use
An international panel of experts is meeting for the first time to help draw up Singapore's roadmap for research and development in creating space and optimising land use.
The 19-member International Advisory Panel for the Land and Liveability National Innovation Challenge, or L2 NIC, will look into R&D challenges and opportunities in areas such as creating cost-effective spaces, using land optimally, creating "highly-liveable" housing towns as well as meeting future mobility demands.
The panel will visit Punggol Eco-town and the Urban Redevelopment Authority's City Gallery, and take part in discussions with government agencies.
Consultations with local and foreign experts on a draft R&D roadmap began in March last year.
