The Internal Affairs Office of the Singapore Police Force is investigating allegations made by two former SMRT bus drivers against the conduct of police investigation officers.

In a statement, the Home Affairs Ministry says it takes a serious view of the public allegations made as they have a detrimental impact on public confidence and trust in the integrity of the Police.

The two ex-SMRT bus drivers from China, charged for their roles in an illegal strike in November last year, have claimed they were assaulted while in police custody.

They made the allegations in an online video.

The office will be approaching bus drivers, the producers of the video and other related parties to seek their assistance in its investigation.
