IDA to investigate M1's service disruption, says Dr Yaacob Ibrahim
Minister for Communications and Information Yaacob Ibrahim says the Infocomm Development Authority or IDA will carry out an investigation into yesterday's M1 service disruption.
Posting on his Facebook page today, Dr Yaacob says he was dismayed when he found out that the M1 service was down again yesterday.
He says it has been a frustrating experience for M1 customers, especially having just experienced other disruptions in very recent months.
He adds that customers have given feedback that M1 could have done better in providing updates and communicating to its subscribers when the services resumed.
Dr Yaacob says he has asked IDA to have M1 ensure that its network functions optimally.
SingTel users also experienced intermittent access to 3G and 4G services today.
Dr Yaacob says while no network service is foolproof, telcos can improve in the way they update and assist their customers when disruptions occur.
