IDA launches probe into fire at SingTel facility
The Infocomm Development Authority says it will take appropriate action to prevent future service disruptions, such as the one caused by the Bukit Panjang Exchange fire.
Describing the recent outage as a serious incident affecting many consumers and businesses, it says it's launched a full investigation to find out the cause.
In a statement on Friday afternoon, IDA says under the Telecommunication Service Resiliency Code, operators are required to ensure that the design of their networks and services are resilient to service outages.
And when outages occur, operators need to restore services promptly.
