SINGAPORE: The Hungarian Deputy Prime Minister, Dr Zsolt Semjén is in Singapore for a three-day visit from 1 May.
Dr Semjén is accompanied by Deputy Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly Mr János Latorcai.
He called on President Tony Tan Keng Yam on Thursday.
Both men discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations, particularly through cooperation in education, and research and development.
President Tan also sought Dr Semjén's views on developments in Europe, and Hungary's support for the EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement.
Separately, Dr Semjén was hosted to lunch by Deputy Speaker of Parliament Charles Chong on Thursday.
Dr Semjén leaves Singapore on Friday.
