SINGAPORE: The Health Promotion Board (HPB) wants to hear from the public on ways to better protect children from advertisements that make unhealthy food and drinks look appealing.
It is part of plans to ban such advertisements from early next year to fight obesity.
The HPB said there’s more evidence showing that advertising influences the food children choose.
So it’s starting an online public consultation exercise to gather input on ways to strengthen guidelines on food advertising for children.
The exercise is open until 28 December 2012.
