Hotels and restaurants pulling out all the stops for National Day

This National Day weekend, hotels and restaurants in the Marina Bay area are pulling out all the stops,so that partygoers can celebrate Singapore's 49th birthday with a night out in style.

938LIVE's Lianne Chia checks out the offerings.

At least 90 per cent of rooms at Marina Mandarin Singapore and the Pan Pacific Singapore are fully booked for the National Day weekend.

Pan Pacific's Marketing Director, Cheryl Ng, says it was a full house last year.

And they expect to be full again this year.

"Reservations have been coming in at a faster pace this year because guests are looking to book their staycation more in advance. And because of the good views that Pan Pacific offers, we have many regular guests who come back year after year just for the National Day festivities."

And even when the Parade moves to the Sports Hub, she doesn't expect demand to abate.

Marina Mandarin's Director of Marketing Communications, Patricia Yong, agrees.

"We're very excited because another facing of Marina Mandarin overlooks the Sports Hub area, so we're not going to miss out on the fireworks too."

The Fullerton Bay hotel has concocted a special National Day cocktail and mocktail.

At the Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore, their Flavours of Singapore buffet dinner will be on a special 49 per cent discount after 9pm on National Day.

Meanwhile, admission to the Marina Bay Sands SkyPark observation deck will cost $59 per person on National Day, including a glass of champagne or juice.

MBS's Vice-President of Food and Beverage, Tamir Shanel, says his personal choice would be the Sky on 57 restaurant located at the SkyPark,

" You can see the bay from above, you'll be able to see the fireworks at the end...it's spectacular. We're proud to be a part of Singapore on its 49th birthday, and we're lucky to be where we are in terms of location.
With so many offers, it looks like National Day revellers will have more reason to celebrate."
