Health Ministry looks into 3 areas of innovation
Health Minister Gan Kim Yong says his Ministry is looking at three areas of innovation in healthcare.
This, given the expected increase in demand for healthcare services from an ageing population.
Mr Gan said advance planning is required to ensure sufficient healthcare capacity, while maximising land-use, given the scarcity of land in Singapore.
Speaking at a healthcare conference, he said healthcare facilities should support integrated care for patients so they can enjoy a more seamless care experience.
Secondly, he said healthcare facilities should be future-ready.
They need to be adaptable in the long-term to meet changing healthcare requirements.
Thirdly, the Health Minister says the government also wants more cost-effective ways to build healthcare facilities.
