SINGAPORE: The Housing and Development Board (HDB) has won a global award in project management for Casa Clementi, the largest public housing project that it has developed to date.
Called the PMI Distinguished Project Award, it is part of annual awards organised by the Project Management Institute, an international association of project managers, to honour outstanding organisations and individuals in the field.
In a statement issued on Monday, HDB said it is the first Singapore recipient of the global award.
Completed in June 2012, Casa Clementi comprises 10 high-rise blocks ranging from 20 to 40 storeys, housing 2,234 units.
The team behind the project comprised HDB and its industry partners, Surbana International Consultants and Straits Constructions Singapore.
HDB said the scale of the project and its proximity to existing developments added to the challenges of the project.
But despite these challenges and other complexities, the project was completed ahead of schedule and within budget, said the statement. - CNA/xq
