HDB launches exhibition to gather public feedback on Punggol Phase 2

The Housing and Development Board has launched an exhibition to gather feedback on its plans for Punggol Phase Two.

The plans were unveiled yesterday and include making Punggol about twice the size of Ang Mo Kio town when its development is complete.

The two-week long exhibition is taking place at the HDB Hub.

It includes a 3D model, which gives a "bird's eye view" of what Punggol town could look like in the future.

The public will be able to give input on how they'd like common spaces or green areas to be used.

They are encouraged to fill up feedback forms or send in their thoughts online.

Visitors MediaCorp spoke to shared their views of the area.

"I live in Punggol and the estate is beautiful and the fresh air is very good. But we hope there's a big shopping centre and a big wet market."

"Maybe not at the moment yet, maybe if in the later part where everything is there, then I would start to think about Punggol."

So far, HDB has completed 26,000 public housing units in Punggol Town.

Half of the town will be built up by 2016.
