Haze has returned to Singapore

Hotspots in Sumatra cast a smoky haze over Singapore today with conditions likely to persist over a few days.
MediaCorp received calls and photos from people showing hazy skies across the island.
In the Thomson area, the haze developed after a brief downpour at around noon, and visibility became progressivley worse with a burning smell in the air.
As of 4pm, the Pollutant Standards Index readings hovered between 28 and 43 which is in the good to moderate range.
But according to the National Environment Agency website, Singapore can expect "occasional slightly hazy conditions for the next few days, if the fires over Sumatra persist".
