SINGAPORE: Singapore gymnast Lim Heem Wei came in second in qualifying for the individual all—round event in the Singapore Open at Bishan Sports Hall.
The finals will take place on Sunday.
The Singapore Open will be her last competition before next month’s London Olympics.
Lim is the first and only Singapore gymnast to compete in the Games after the Singapore National Olympic Committee gave her the nod on Friday.
She is one of two Southeast Asian gymnasts to go to London.
Lim is also happy about her recent Olympics preparation in China.
"Because we can pump in the hours; where we stay in the gym it’s really near and we get a lot of training hours and there are no external distractions or interferences."
