Government open to raising income ceiling for singles to buy flats
National Development Minister Khaw Boon Wan said the government is open to raising the income ceiling to allow more singles to buy new Housing Board flats.
But he said this will depend on how manageable subscription rates are for the new scheme.
The scheme was announced on Friday during the Committee of Supply debate for the Ministry for National Development.
Speaking on the sidelines of a community event today, Mr Khaw said housing policies need to be gently tweaked, before more adjustments are made.
