Free Pap smear screenings at 146 general practitioners' clinics till 30 September 2014
Free Pap smear screenings will be available at 146 general practitioners' clinics from now till the end of September.
They are available to all female Singaporeans and Permanent Residents aged between 25 and 69, who are or have been sexually-active, and have not had a Pap smear screening in the last three years.
This is part of the first Women's Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Campaign.
Initiated by the Singapore Cancer Society, the campaign aims to create greater awareness about uterine, ovarian and cervical cancer, which are among the top 10 cancers diagnosed in women here.
Regular pap smear screening can help detect cervical cancer early.
A complete list of participating GP clinics offering the free Pap smears can be found on theSingapore Cancer Society website.
If you're interested in learning more about gynaecological cancers, you can attend the Singapore Cancer Society's public forum at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre on 26 July.
