Four popular primary schools to carry out balloting process under phase 2A(2) of Primary 1 registratiom
Parents trying to register their children for a Primary One place at four popular primary schools will have to go through the balloting process, even if they themselves were former students of the school or had other children studying there.
The four schools where balloting will be conducted are:
CHIJ St Nicholas Girls' School, Henry Park Primary School, Nan Hua Primary School and Radin Mas Primary School.
The number of registrants exceeded the number of vacancies at these schools, at the end of Phase 2A(2) of the Primary 1 registration exercise today.
Balloting will be conducted for children who're Singapore citizens and live more than 2km away from the four schools.
Another popular school, Yu Neng Primary School, was over-subscribed by 3 places.
But balloting will not be conducted as it can accommodate the 3 additional Singaporean children who registered.
Previously, balloting was not necessary at Phase 2A(2).
But the number of vacancies was reduced this year, because 40 places in each primary school have been reserved for children with no connection to the school.
Results of Phase 2A(2) will be announced by Thursday.
