Four more Indian nationals charged with rioting
Four more Indian Nationals have been charged in relation to the Little India Riot on Sunday.
This brings the number of people charged with rioting to 31.
The latest four are between 25 and 45 years of age.
Three of them, Sellamuthu Elangovan, Ammasi Venkatesan, and Selvarasu were accused of being part of an unlawful assembly, and overawing police officers with criminal force.
They were also alleged to have thrown hardened cement at police officers.
The fourth, Arumugam Karthik, was charged with taking part in the riot, and also throwing a dustbin at the front window of a bus, and smashing its windscreen with a wooden stick.
He was also said to be involved in flipping and setting alight a police vehicle.
Deputy public prosecutor Norman Yew requested for them to be remanded for another week to facilitate investigations.
A representative from the Law Society also informed the accused the option for them to seek help through the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme.
The case will be mentioned again on 19 December.
