Former People's Action Party or PAP Hougang candidate Desmond Choo has resigned from the National Trades Union Congress or NTUC.

Speaking to 938LIVE, Mr Choo says he'll be joining the private sector for new exposure, and says that he is leaving the NTUC with a heavy heart.
He says he'll continue to be involved in workers' causes.
"This process of fighting for workers' rights, taking care of their benefits, for long term interest,is something that excited me, and keep me occupied for the past 3 years. My involvement with NTUC will continue, through advocating workers rights, helping residents get jobs, and also to enrich E2i 's job bank."
Mr Choo also says he will continue in his role as the grassroots advisor of Hougang Constituency.
"Actually my employment and contributions to grassroots are two different matters. I will continue to serve the residents of Hougang, in fact there are quite a few things coming up and I will definitely be part of it."
