A former dealer at the Marina Bay Sands casino was charged today for being in cahoots with a pit supervisor and a patron to cheat the casino of $31,500.
38-year-old Kenneth Lim Khan Lerk, who allegedly pocketed $10,000 from the illegal proceeds, was slapped with three counts of corruption.
They include one count of agreeing to accept gratification and two counts of corruptly attempting to obtain gratification.
Lim allegedly worked together with pit supervisor Keith Yong Kee-Hwei and casino patron Steven Tan Tiong Loon to cheat the casino on two occasions on 7 October 2010.
On that day, Lim was a dealer at a Money Wheel table.
It is believed Yong used his hand to stop the Money Wheel at the outcome where Tan had placed his bet on.
Initially, Lim allegedly accepted $1,000 from Yong in exchange for his silence.
When Tan won $13,500 as a result of the rigging, Lim was said to have asked $2,000 more from Yong.
This was supposedly repeated in another game where Tan won $18,000 this time.
Lim then allegedly demanded another $7,000 from Yong.
Lim will be back in court on 18 September.
If convicted, he could be jailed up to five years and fined a maximum of $100,000 for each charge.
