SINGAPORE: A fire broke out at Newton MRT station on Wednesday morning.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) says officers are now at the scene.
In a tweet by SCDF at 10:19am, it says no injuries have been reported so far.
In a tweet by SMRT at 10:16am, it says there is no northbound train service from Marina Bay to Toa Payoh.
In an update at 10.31am, SMRT says train services from Marina Bay to Toa Payoh are expected to resume in one hour, advises affected passengers to take free bus services available at affected stations, the Circle Line or the North East Line.
