F&B operators near iPhone 5 retailers hope to rake in sales from overnight queues

F&B operators near iPhone 5 retailers hope to rake in sales from overnight queues

iPhone 5 fever in Singapore is heating up on the eve of its launch.

Service providers say pre-orders for the smart phone have been overwhelming.

But they are not the only ones hoping to rake in profits.

Overnight queues are expected at several areas including EpiCentre shops at 313@Somerset and Wheelock Place.

Food and beverage businesses near the area are hoping to increase their sales from the overnight crowd.

Coffee Club and fast food restaurant Wendy's around Wheelock Place operate 24 hours.

The managers told Channel NewsAsia they will try to send their staff to the queue area so that they can take food orders.

Meanwhile, shops such as Garrett that sell popcorn are thinking of prolonging their operation hours to cater to hungry iPhone fans.
