Ex-SCDF Officer charged with criminal breach of trust
A former director of the Singapore Civil Defence Force's Technology Department was today charged with two counts of criminal breach of trust.
62-year-old Jeganathan Ramasamy faces two counts of misappropriating two Apple iPad2 valued at $938.58 each in September 2011.
He allegedly gave one to his daughter for her personal use, and is said to have sold the other iPad to a colleague for $200.
It's understood Jeganathan had obtained two iPad2 from NCS Pte Ltd, which is one of the main IT vendors of SCDF.
As part of his job, he had to interact with NCS.
The two iPads were said to have been delivered to Jeganathan's office in Ubi Avenue and meant for testing of mobile applications.
If convicted, Jeganathan faces the maximum penalty of life imprisonment and a fine.
