Efforts at strengthening cybersecurity
Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean highlighted the importance of Cybersecurity for Singapore, given our high dependence on information technology and the Internet.
He says the National Cyber Security Centre which starts operating next month will work with sector leads on round-the-clock detection of major national cyber threats.
The Cyber Security Lab in the Home Team Academy which opens this September, will provide realistic hands-on training for those regulating, managing and operating national Critical Information Infrastructure.
And the Home tesm will continue to work closely with the community and industry to promote good cybersecurity practices and expand Singapore's pool of infocomm security experts.
"Because the cyber world transcends national borders, and attacks can materialise without notice from anywhere in the world, it is critical that we continue to work with like-minded global and industry partners, to build a community of responsible and security-aware users, and to strengthen our cybersecurity capabilities."
