SINGAPORE : A documentary film on one of Singapore’s most well—known painters, Chua Ek Kay, premieres at the Singapore Art Museum on Wednesday.
The film — "Being and Becoming Chua Ek Kay" — showcases the struggles and achievements of one of Singapore’s most famous Chinese ink artists.
Known for his popular and controversial works, Mr Chua was hailed as the "bridge between Asian and Western art".
He established himself and his work during a key period in Singapore’s recent history, during the 1980s and 1990s.
