Database to store family case files
A single database on families receiving assistance from various social service agencies is in the pipeline.
Minister for Social and Family Development Chan Chun Sing, says taking this "whole-of-government" case management approach would help social service officers provide flexible and customised solutions for those who need help.
It would also enhance the cross-collaboration efforts.
"For the people looking for help, they just need to tell their story once. For the people providing help, they know what help has been given to the families or the individuals across the entire timespan. No different from medical history we get when we go see a doctor."
The database plans to have the case files on an initial 500 families receiving social assistance in the first year.
Another 500 will be added in the second year.
