Committee to review concession policies
The committee tasked to review the public transport fare framework says it will undertake a thorough review of current concession policies and schemes.
This follows an announcement by Transport Minister Lui Tuck Yew last month that he would like the Committee to also review the current public transport concessions framework within the broader issue of affordability of fares.
Chairman of the Fare Review Mechamism Committee, Richard Magnus, says the aim is to come up with a comprehensive and holistic framework on how the various concession schemes can be adjusted.
It will also suggest possible new concession schemes and concession groups for the consideration of the Transport Minister.
