SINGAPORE: The Certificate of Entitlement (COE) quota for the first bidding exercise in February is being cut, the same time as when changes to the COE classifications kick in.
The total number of COEs available is 1,558 -- a 12.9 per cent dip compared to the last exercise in January.
The quota for motorcycles will see the biggest decrease, with a drop of 28.2 per cent to 361 from 503.
COEs for cars in the open category will be cut by 20 per cent to 208 from 261.
Cars with engine power output exceeding 130 brake horsepower will be classified under Category B.
Category B (big cars 1,601cc and above) COEs will be shaved by 8.4 per cent to 360 from 393, while Category A (small cars up to 1,600cc) COEs will go down by 1.7 per cent to 362 from 368. - CNA/ec
