COE premiums mostly higher, led by increase of 10% but premium fell for small cars

Premiums for Certificates of Entitlement rose, except for small car, at the end of the latest bidding exercise on Wednesday.

The biggest increase was for big cars (above 1,600cc) - by 10 per cent or $8,301. 

A COE will cost $88,500. 

For goods vehicles and buses, the premium rose by 0.8 per cent or S$475 - to $57,809. 

For motorcycles, the COE premium increased by 2.8 per cent or $51 - to $1,852 

In the Open Category, a COE will cost $89,990, which is 2 per cent or $1,991 higher than that of the previous round of bidding. 

However, the COE premium for small cars (up to 1,600cc) fell by 7 per cent, or $5,000 - to close at $63,000.
