SINGAPORE: China's Vice-Premier, Zhang Gaoli, will visit Singapore from 21-23 October.
Mr Zhang is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China.
Mr Zhang's visit is at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean.
Mr Teo and Mr Zhang will co-chair the 10th Joint Council for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC), 15th Suzhou Industrial Park Joint Steering Council (JSC) and 6th Tianjin Eco-city (TEC) JSC meetings on Tuesday.
The JCBC meeting will discuss existing and new areas of bilateral cooperation.
The SIP and TEC JSC meetings will review the progress of these two government-to-government projects and chart new directions for their future development.
Mr Teo and Mr Zhang will witness the signing of several bilateral agreements after the JCBC meeting.
Singapore and China will commemorate the 10th anniversary of the JCBC at the welcome dinner for Mr Zhang on Monday. The dinner will be hosted by Mr Teo.
Mr Zhang is also scheduled to meet President Tony Keng Yam and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong during his visit.
Mr Zhang will also visit the Anchorvale Community Club and Sengkang Floating Wetland for an update on Singapore's efforts in the areas of inclusive and sustainable development. - CNA/ir
