Charity dinner raises funds for disadvantaged children

SINGAPORE: In conjunction with National Family Celebrations 2012, a charity dinner was held at the Grand Mercure Roxy Singapore on Friday evening.

Titled "Children Are Our Hope For The Future 2012", the project aims to raise funds to help disadvantaged children in Marine Parade pursue their education and encourage family bonding.

The event was graced by Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong, who also gave out laptops to 12 children in Geylang Serai and three students from Nanyang Polytechnic.

A S$5,000 cheque was presented to Jamiyah Children’s Home by Mr Chris Teo, director of Roxy Pacific Holdings.

Sixty students from low—income families also received vouchers worth S$250.
